Semolina halva

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup cold pressed mustard oil or toasted sesame oil
  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoon thinly sliced almonds for garnish

Method

  • Heat oil in a pan (on high heat) and add the semolina
  • Fry the semolina until it starts to lightly brown.
  • Be careful to stir often, so as not to let it burn.
  • Add in honey and cardamom powder, and fry for a few minutes till the honey starts to melt.
  • Add the water slowly and continue to stir till all the water dries up and starts to form a thicker consistency.
  • Optionally add sliced almonds, serve and eat!
